while, you can click the "Refresh" link to see if another member has left
you a recent message.
- On your profile page, clicking the "Clear All Messages" link will do just
that. Take care: once you clear or delete messages they cannot be
retrieved.
- The "Hide smilies" link will do just what it says using an XTML command.
When your smilies are hidden, the link will say "Show smilies". Click it to
show smilies again.
- To insert a smilie in a message; with your cursor blinking where you want
the smilie to appear, click once on the smilie you want to show in the
message and the program will place the appropriate code for that smilie in
message. (Note: only code will show in
the post field.)
- Type your message in the message field and click the "Post Message"
button. Messages or replies you post in your own profile page you can
delete. Messages you post in another members profile page you CANNOT delete.
- When leaving a message for another member, if you check the "Private
message" check box, an asterisk * will appear to the left of your user name.
No other member will be able to see your message accept the intended
recipient. Left un-checked, your message can be seen by all visitors if
you've made your page "Public".
- You can respond to messages left by other members in the messages module
on your profile page and click post message. If you are replying to a
Private message, you will need to click on the member's username in the
message. That will take you to their profile page where you can leave a
Private Message reply if you want to keep the communication private.
- In the screen shot to the left, "8" indicates a message left for you,
and "7" indicates your response message when both messages are public.
- To Delete a message, click the "Delete" button.

Adding Your Own Creations

Note On Descriptions: You cannot add a hyperlink to your caption
or description, however you can
make your caption/description a web address. In the sample above you see
hand made fiberglass helicopter scaled to fit the blades of a ceiling fan.
In the caption/description field I typed in his upcoming web address:
www.HelicopterCeilingFan.com. So while this social site was not built to be
a shopping cart, nothing says you can't show a web page address. |
